Key Changes Post-Brexit
With the UK leaving the EU on January 1, 2021, shipments to the EU require customs clearance under the UK-EU Trade and Cooperation Agreement (TCA). This impacts all shipments entering the EU from the UK.
New EU VAT Rules (Effective 1 July 2021)
Major changes to EU VAT rules mean:
- All goods, regardless of value, are now subject to VAT. The previous exemption for goods valued under €22 has been removed.
- The introduction of the Import One Stop Shop (IOSS), simplifying VAT declaration for imported goods valued at €150 or less.
🔍 How It Works:
Order → VAT Collected at Checkout → Quicker Customs Processing → Delivery
Understanding IOSS
The Import One Stop Shop (IOSS) is designed to make your online shopping experience seamless. Here’s what it means for you:
- VAT is paid upfront at checkout for goods valued at €150 or less, making customs clearance faster.
- MySupplementShop Ltd is IOSS registered, ensuring you won't be charged VAT upon parcel arrival at EU customs.
- This streamlined process means fewer delays and a smoother delivery experience.
Customs Duties & Other Charges
While VAT is collected upfront, customs duties and other import fees may still apply, depending on your order’s value, type, and origin country:
- Duties are based on the value of goods and their country of origin.
- Any additional charges are your responsibility and must be paid before delivery.
